Outlook for week of Aug 15, 2016

Last week I stated  "Dow and SandP500 should make marginally new highs during the coming week".  Not only that but the Nasdaq set new highs.  The Dow Jones Transportation Average seems to be lagging.

In the coming week the 9 month and 10 week cycles are down.  The 4.5 month cycle is up.  The five week cycle is topping as the 2.5 week cycle bottoms.  Two longer cycles down,  one up. The right translation of the 9 month cycle (due to uptrend) should  be playing out.  It appears the week should show a down bias.

  3. Isn't a right translated top considered bearish? Or a market top is at hand and it won't be exceeded for some time.

A left translated top like the prior 9 month cycle, was bullish, but current 9 month is right translated.

    1. Right translated tops indicate in an up trend currently. Looking for CIT (change in trend) indications (change to bearish). Right translation top warns us a down turn should be nearing, but alone right translated top is not bearish.

    July 2016 outlook

I had been showing the last week of June as a point at which several cycles (medium/short term) achieved bottoms. If you followed along you know this. It is starting to appear that the bottom may have been set

  6. Intel,

so if the 4.5 is dominant cycle and so will we keep the side until the end of August? or start entering short right now?

  7. The 4.5 month (20 week) cycle tops late August.... I expect that is when the action gets started with conviction to the downside (time to buy inverses on indexes like DOW Industries or SP500). I plan to set limit orders for a partial position the last week of August (subject to change if situation demands).

  8. inlet,
i am one of your regular visitor to blog and an old gentleman and i had a question for you if you have time will you please look at GILD chart and be kind enough to post your comments. i still have difficulty understanding why a solid biotech company with such earnings get punished so much while some companies with NO earnings are flying
    thanks,

  9. Bio stocks tend move like crazy on news of FDA approvals or meeting objectives with a new drug. No expertise on bio companies though.

Looking at a chart the Feb 11 and June 27 bottoms were hit. During that period you had three 6 1/2 week shorter cycles with significant movement. Seems GILD may be a TRADER with about a 3 week holding period. GL

  10. Sergio, from Spain.

First, congratulations for you, your cycles studies, and blog... They are helpful.
So much interesting... and comments from bloggers.

    I have a question:
In blog, talk middle or long cycles... But, i study microcycles in 5m-10m-15m time frames.
    ?someone can talk for microcycles?...
    So much interesting!!!

    Thanks, and good luck.

  11. Sergio - D0 not know any blogs (people) I know/trust that do day trading. I suggest you try to find blogs addressing day trading. My minor experience with day trading told me it takes more focus and time than I wanted to devote to trading.

  13. Thanks for the approach to Microcycles ... but I did not mean exactly that. That's too simple !!!.
I did not mean intra-day cycles, but short-medium term.

Let me take a current example in Ibex (Spanish stock index):
    http://prntscr.com/ca4gdc
To be short or long closure of a microcycle 18 candles above / below two closures 2 Microcycles 18 candles needed.
The key is to sail 18 in this case.

In addition, I use other tools timeless.

    Good trading !!!.
